Colias philodice

Common name: Clouded sulfur

Appearance:

  • Males are yellow with clear edging on wings; have dark submarginal spots
  • Females can be yellow with a black border or greenish-white
  • 1.5-3 inch wingspan

Found: In open fields, clover fields, road edges

Major foodplant: White clover

Adults are active in: mid-March through October
